The Alpha-1 Foundation is delighted to launch a new educational film on Alpha-1. Filmed on location in Donegal, Kildare, RCSI Beaumont Hospital, and DCU, the film tells the story of John O’Donnell from Manorcunningham, a talented poet who developed lung disease due to Alpha-1 and tragically passed away at the age of 26.
Alpha-1 is the most common genetic condition in Ireland and linked to risk for lung, liver, and skin problems. The majority of people with Alpha-1 present with COPD.
